Introduction

For no sane or logical reason (and why should one exist? One colleague I know will insist that humans are rational agents, but who the hell would ever think that's a reasonable hypothesis?), I've decided to take a long route to Ohio from NYC.

Though not sane or logical, perhaps it's a fun thing to do. Particularly when it's on a motorcycle. And especially when it takes you through the hidden and twisty, and perhaps twisted, roads of the American Southeast. I've never spent any time exploring this area of the US, outside of the family vacations to Myrtle Beach or Disneyworld. So, this is an opportunity to sample the character and the roads (and the BBQ) of, hmm, the western part of the Southeastern United States of America (?).

So, for the sake of introductions, there's me (40, neuroscientist, blah blah blah) and the motorcycle (1999 Suzuki SV650, with 2003 GSXR-600 front end, fairing, and numerous add-ons, or farkles in moto-lingo. don't ask why. I don't know.)

Fair disclosure: I'm starting this a few days into the trip. and, once the trip is over, who knows what this will contain. You have been warned.
